Triscan Systems was delighted to present a £5000 cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support on Wednesday 11th December.
The cheque was presented to the charity by Andrea Whittaker, Director (featured right), and Lorna Howgate, HR Manager (centre).
Andrea commented: “We are thrilled that we are able to support Macmillan Cancer Relief. It has been a profitable year for Triscan, and we’re delighted to be able to give something back to the local community.”
Collecting the cheque on behalf of Macmillan was Seb Farrell, East Lancashire’s corporate fundraising manager. He said: “I’m delighted to accept this generous donation. Each and every day 739 people in the UK are told they have cancer, and the donation provided by Triscan Systems will help us to continue our work providing the practical and emotional support that these people so desperately need.”
With over two million people living with, or beyond cancer in the UK, and the number of cancer cases in England doubling over the last 40 years, the strain on Macmillan’s resources is increasing. The money donated by Triscan will go towards the charity’s operations across the area.
