Fuel and fleet management technology business Triscan Systems has been assisting one of the UK’s largest supermarket retailers with its Carbon Reduction Commitment. In October of last year, ASDA joined the Freight Transport Association’s Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme; an audited programme which now represents more than 50,000 commercial vehicles. It has been estimated that the scheme will reduce carbon emissions by 1.2 million tonnes of carbon per year by 2020.

What Is Triscan’s Involvement?
Triscan is providing the fuel island and vehicle reporting solution which will help Asda provide fuel usage, fleet and activity information that is crucial in painting an accurate picture of their carbon footprint. Keven Emery, Triscan Key Account Director makes the point “Asda has 19 sites and over 900 vehicles across the UK, so Triscan is extremely well placed to provide the project management and expertise required to deal with a customer roll out of this size. Currently we are roughly half way through the project and have worked extremely close with our Asda counterparts in ensuring a smooth project implementation.”

Asda’s Feedback
Liam Fletcher, Asda’s Network Efficiency Manager has been at the centre of the project from the very beginning and is keen to see the benefits of what is a significant investment even for one of the largest retailers in the sector “There was no doubt that we needed to be able to support our strategic commitments with technologies that deliver accurate management information. In researching what was required it became apparent that Triscan had both the product set and the project management expertise to assist us in this process.”

Keven Emery continues “We consulted with Asda and the brief, in essence, was fairly simple to assist them to drive the focus into producing fewer, friendlier and cheaper miles.”
Triscan continues to focus its collaborative approach to the fuel and fleet management sector with its evolutionary Source to Exhaustâ„¢ proposition. Developments at Triscan can be followed by joining the Fuel Management Group on LinkedIn.
