The bus and coach industry continues to grasp the latest technology when it comes to fuel management and carbon cost reduction. Following an extremely busy and successful autumn period, transport technology company Triscan reports that the bus and coach sector is definitely backing up its green credentials with action.

Background

A number of transport operators across the UK have already upgraded their systems from suppliers who are moving to assist firms in meeting legislative change as well as saving them cash. Not all solutions provide the anticipated ‘benefits realisation’ outcomes though.

Triscan has long been associated with the sector and specialises in getting under the skin of  clients’ requirements. Triscan’s Barry McLeod takes a considered approach to how fuel managament technology can be used to provide real value ‘We aim to emphasise the bottom line to our prospective clients; that vehicles are costing money to run but operators more often than not, cannot pinpoint where to exercise additional management cost control at a vehicle, depot or driver level’.

Triscan continues to upgrade existing customers as well as welcoming new ones. Their Source to Exhaust™ approach to the marketplace employs what they call ‘smarter thinking technology’, meaning that clients have confidence in their ability to provide a scalable and evolving solution for both hardware and software.

Upgrade offers

Currently, special packages are available to assist companies to upgrade from Triscan’s previous fuel management software product (Phoenix) and a number of helpful product guides are available from their website to convince apprehensive system users of how easy their latest products are to use. Barry continues ‘Getting over the hurdle of convincing people of the benefits and the ease of use of new technology that may differ from what they have used over a number of years, is really the challenge; we try and ensure that our customers are provided with as much training and support as they need to get the best from their new systems’.

Case Studies

Taking it one step further, industry professionals can also view Triscan’s latest fuel management case study video, which features Telling Golden Miller (Part of the Arriva Group) and their approach to utilising Triscan’s Source to Exhaust™’ concept. The video crystalises Triscan’s ethos in delivering potentially complex IT projects which involves a holistic approach based on comparative analysis of intervention points where fuel can be ‘lost’. In essence, the company argues that fuel management is now much more than monitoring transactions from the fuel pump and providing raw data.

CV Show 2012

Finally Triscan has announced its participation in the Commercial Vehicle Show 2012. The company has spent the last 12 months pursuing ambitious product development plans and is said to be looking forward to showcasing a number of new products and services within its fuel management framework and approach.
