Triscan’s work on Tripod Crest’s refuelling system typifies its approach to all major projects. As a longstanding customer, Tripod Crest initially approached Triscan in 2013 to replace a legacy Optima PC unit and Phoenix PC software with its future-proof and adaptable Apollo 2 fuel management system and web-based software, Odyssey, at two of its sites in Northampton and Somerset.
The core requirements of the Tripod Crest project were threefold: first, to integrate scalable reporting for a multi-site, multi-vehicle operation; second, to better improve visibility of refuelling operations, so as to have the ability to monitor fuel 24/7 from any remote location; third, to reduce administration time and increase confidence through accurate and seamless data capture, reported into one software system.
To achieve these objectives, Triscan implemented an integrated fuel management solution which enabled round-the-clock monitoring of vehicle activities. The advanced hardware and software installations enabled nominated managers to access accurate information on fuel movements, stock levels and consumption 24 hours a day, throughout the year. Reports could be used to streamline the process of accurately logging fuel usage down to the individual driver or vehicle level, in order to increase the speed of refuelling for time critical journeys and reduce administration costs.
As a result of Triscan’s ongoing success on the project, it has since installed a bunded partitioned tank with tank gauging, along with diesel and gas oil pumps. The new installation features an above ground PPG compliant 35,000L bunded tank, feeding two stainless steel Pumptronics 70 L/MIN ATEX approved pumps.
